My aim for this adventure was
to care less about where the car eventually broke down and live the here
and now and all that. Except that we also had a mission - that
the car should expire where it first began, in Turin. This blurred philosophy
was made no clearer by a small Karate Elvis which I took
as my religious dashboard icon.
Co-pilot Mark had already booked a holiday and flights to Italy but chose
to put his faith in the Strada. He risked it all because he was blessed
with a larger share of Magic Sprinkles. Mark's performed
many miracles, including levitation, and his likeness appears on the Shroud
of Turin. Mark supplied several bags of crisps, acquired in a
petrol station in Dover.
