Tuesday night - picked up Mark
from Stroud and headed for Dan's house in Greenwich, London. We had no
right-hand indicator so had to hand-signal a lot through town.
We wouldn't be needing that indicator much from now on. Dan's beer and
our big adventure excitement kept us all up late.
Wednesday was hot. Drove to Dover and got a cheeky cross-channel day
return. There was no going back when we rolled off the
ferry at Calais. Mark took the driving seat and got up to record
speed - "Appuie sur le champignon!" as they say.
Arrived in Dijon just after dark, found a hotel and went out. Next morning,
after a pleasant mooch around town, we set off for somewhere near the
Alps. So far so good. No mishaps, no major over-heating. Time to relax
a bit...
